What do Pop-Tarts and Crocs have in common? Holes.
The breakfast pastry brand announced their partnership with Crocs to offer a limited-edition Pop-Tarts Croc-Tarts Kit allowing customers to decorate their Crocs with Pop-Tarts and their Pop-Tarts with Crocs. The kit includes a pair of white Crocs and Pop-Tarts Jibbitz as well as a box of Unfrosted Strawberry Pop-Tarts, Crocs-shaped berry-flavored gummy Jibbitz, and edible glue to decorate with.
Jet-Puffed Made a S’mores Shoe
The marshmallow brand Jet-Puffed partnered with shoe company Kizik to release a pair of shoes in celebration of National S’mores Day on August 10. Think Teva down slippers meets Crocs meets Yeezys, but worse. The associate brand manager for Jet-Puffed called the shoes a “sweet treat for your feet” and is hopeful the shoe is a reminder to buy marshmallows. The pair will set you back $119 or about 52 bags of marshmallows, probably more than most people buy in a lifetime.
Aldi’s Knock Off Stanley Tumbler
The German-based grocery chain is upping its merch game by making a Stanley Tumbler dupe. The Thirst Crusher will be $10, a competitive alternative to Stanley’s Quencher priced at $45. The tumbler is set to hit shelves August 30, which they should consider upping to August 12 if they want to maximize exposure among the Bama Rush girlies.

The hummus company launched new flavors in partnership with hot sauce brand, Frank's RedHot and barbeque sauce brand, Stubb’s. The collab screams game day.
Konscious Foods raised $26 million in seed funding
The plant-based seafood startup is the latest venture of Yves Potvin, the French chef who previously founded the Yves Veggie Cuisine and Gardein brands. Konscious Foods’ sushi rolls and poke bowls are currently available at Whole Foods, but they are looking to grow their retail and food service business which funding will go towards.
Nona Lim Acquired by DDC Enterprise Limited
Nona Lim, the San Francisco-based producer of broths and noodles, has been acquired by DDC Enterprise Limited, a Hong Kong-based food content brand. Both companies are founded by women and share a goal to deliver authentic quick-prep Asian food.
Microalgae-based protein brand gets seed funding
Brevel, a Tel Aviv–based company developing an alternative protein made from microalgae announced $18.5 million in seed funding. The company uses a proprietary process of fermentation and light to generate protein from microalgae and convert it to a powder for use in plant-based products like vegan cheese.
NYT did a #foodtok deep dive
Dating back to the 1940’s, cooking videos began as strictly instructional with hosts such as Julia Childs and Joyce Chen featured on local networks. Today, “videos on TikTok with the #foodtok hashtag have been viewed more than 64 billion times.” A must read.
